MODinChs welcomes story ideas from architects, designers, artists, purveyors of goods, really anyone who would like to see their work or event published on our site.

MODinChs is unable to pay for photography but will happily give credits, links and full copyright details where appropriate. Many photographers happily give free imagery for publication on MODinChs, who knows, it is a good way to promote your work and could lead to commissions from other publications.
At the moment, we do not accept stories from freelance writers, unless your stuff ROCKS, but keep an eye on developments as this may change.
Note: MODinChs hopes to gain a passionate and opinionated group of readers and the types of stories that attract a lot of comments. While I believe in freedom of speech, I understand that sometimes comments can upset architects, artists, and designers who send their work. I will try to moderate comments to keep them reasonable but one might slip through the cracks. If your work is covered in a story, and you feel the comments are getting out of hand, please drop a note and I’ll take appropriate action.
The Legal stuff
Please make sure you only submit content if you are the owner of all intellectual property rights in that content. This means, for example, that you own the copyright in the content as well as any trade marks or design rights, which may be registered or unregistered. Please check that you own these rights if you are unsure.
If there is a claim that someone else owns all or part of the intellectual property rights in the content, I will investigate the claim and will remove the content from the website if necessary. I may also look to you for compensation.
MODinChs is free to publish content that you submit in whole or part on this website or any other site in which I have rights to publish.
Please make sure you do not submit any content that might be considered abusive, obscene, illegal, libellous, defamatory, racist or factually inaccurate, as you will be considered a complete tool and your work will not be published here.
Remember, you are fully responsible for all content you submit and you accept liability for any actions relating to the content. Any comments and reviews posted on this website by you or other users do not necessarily reflect my opinion and am not responsible or liable for any content submitted by you or anyone else.

MODinChs believes that information should be free to all, but also believe that the sources for that information should be credited properly and intellectual property rights should be respected. MODinChs and the site content is protected by copyright law (see below).
However, I am generally happy for individuals and websites to repost elements of the information and images on www.modernincharleston.com, so long as:
- MODinChs is cited as the source with a prominent (ideally above-the-fold) credit and link to the relevant page on our site, eg “(via MODinChs)” or “Found on MODinChs” etc;
- All copyright notices are respected, with credits and links to authors and photographers included next to the relevant text, images etc, and the permission of the copyright holder sought in advance;
- Reposting is not excessive – don’t repost stories in their entirety and don’t repost every story on our site!
- Our content is freely accessible to all visitors, without pay or registration barriers.
- You take reasonable steps to ensure third-party sites do not repost our content from your site, eg by clearly publishing your own copyright notice.
